My father founded Arya Bhangy in 1969, making hand-carved teak doors that came to stand in homes, temples, churches and public institutions across India. From that beginning we have built a group of five companies, spanning manufacturing, automotive retail, hospitality, workspaces and real estate.
We entered construction in 2008, and it is now central to what we do. We develop residential and commercial spaces across Kochi, from apartments to office and co-working addresses, and more than a hundred families today live in homes we have built.
We came into this business with a reputation already behind us, and that has shaped how we build. We take on fewer projects than we could, we hold to a standard we set ourselves, and we stay involved long after handover. Some of our earliest buildings are still looked after by us today.
Build fewer, build better, and stand behind the work long after the keys have changed hands. That principle has not changed in fifty-five years, and it will not in the next.

Five Decades of Building Trust
What began in 1969 as a small workshop making hand-carved doors has become a name spanning across homes, business, and beyond.

In 1969 Davis Thomas opened a small workshop in Kochi making hand-carved teak doors. Under his son George Thomas it grew into showrooms across India, with doors that stand today in homes, temples, churches and public institutions around the country. It remains the only company in India making Teak wood front doors and nothing else.
The family's first step beyond doors: a Honda two-wheeler dealership, built on the same principle of looking after the customer long after the sale. It has since grown to seven branches and two BigWing showrooms across North Ernakulam.
With a first commercial building in Kalamassery, the family entered real estate. Since then we have developed residential and commercial spaces across Kochi, and more than a hundred families now live in Arya Bhangy homes. Projects handed over years ago are still looked after today.
The group's first venture into hospitality. A business hotel in Nettoor, run with the same attention to the individual guest that the family has brought to everything else it has built. A new wing of luxury suites is now under way beside the existing property.
The newest business, and the first designed around how people work now. Gridspace opened its first coworking space at Grande, Kalamassery, with a flagship of over 400 seats in Gandhi Nagar due in 2027.

We have been developing residential and commercial spaces across Kochi since 2008. From Kakkanad to Vyttila, Panampilly Nagar to Kalamassery, our projects have followed the city as it's grown — and along the way, we've handed over homes to more than 200 families.
Every space we develop is built to a standard we don't compromise on. It begins with the right location and ends with sound construction, so you don't just move in — you settle.
